Balagopala – Dikshithar

Balagopala, a composition of Muthuswamy Dikshithar is a wonderful kriti in ragam Bhairavi. The song is an ode to the presiding deity at the temple in Mannargudi. The words of the song along with the meaning can be found here.

The song recording below is from my concert at the ISKCON temple on Janmashtami in 2008. The accompanists are M.S.Govindaswamy (violin) and C.Cheluvaraju (mridangam).
