Wild Women Jugalbandhi - Snapshots

The 'Wild Women' jugalbandhi program at Indian Music Experience Museum Bangalore with poet Arundhathi Subramaniam was such a special experience for me in more ways than one. While many of us have read poetry at different stages in our lives, actually hearing one of India’s leading poets perform these poems in person was a subliminal experience. And then to have the opportunity to render the same poems musically in their original vernacular languages - that was truly special. The appreciative, full-house audience who showed up for the event was a powerful testament to the amazing 56 women poets featured in the book.

A big thank you to the (videographer) friend in the audience who captured these amazing moments in a short video - the shots are truly stunning, Mike Noone!Poetry has such a unique ability to touch the soul. Events like these remind me why I'm so passionate about bringing powerful Bhakti poetry to life through music .
